Most hot melt adhesives are processed at around 160ºC. These are the default settings for most EVA and polyolefin hot melt adhesives. Exceptions are: "cool" melts: approx. 120ºC, PUR hot melt with approx. 120ºC, and product assembly hot melts; up to 200ºC.
The glue tank temperature is usually a few degrees below the glue head temperature, e.g. 150ºC at a glue head temperature of 160ºC. Depending on the adhesive consumption and melting behaviour, this may be higher or lower. When we service your hot-melt system, we also check the adhesive temperature settings based on the technical data sheet of the hot-melt adhesive supplied by the manufacturer.
