Hot melt systems are made up of a number of components, with the hot melt unit at the centre. The entire system ensures that you apply the right amount of hot melt adhesive at the right position.
Hot melt unit
The hot melt unit roughly consists of a melt tank, a plunger pump or gear pump, electronic control and connections for the hot melt hoses.
Hot melt hose
This is a heated and insulated hose that keeps the hot melt warm and brings it to the glue head. The hose is usually also an electrical conduit to the glue head and may have an air hose for a swirl head integrated.
Hot melt adhesive head
The hot-melt glue head comes in several versions:
- Stripe/dot
- Swirl/spray
- Flat coating
