The correct temperature setting can usually be read on the Technical Data Sheet of the hot melt adhesive you are using. Usually this is about 160°C in the glue head , with the tank set to 150°C and the hot melt glue hose set to 155°C.
There is often a temperature range on the technical data sheet of the hot melt, it is recommended to stick to it. Some hot melts, also called coolmelts, can operate at lower temperatures of 100°C to 120°C, other, special types of hot melt sometimes actually work at high temperatures of 180°C to 200°C. Especially at high temperatures, it is usually important to watch out for ageing and perform regular maintenance, such as flushing the adhesive system.
